NUTRITION SERVICE Information

Thank you for considering my
nutrition services for your patient

I’m Mari Harrison, an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) and Certified Eating Disorder Clinician (CEDC) based in Canberra ACT, with over 25 years of clinical experience, ranging from surgical nutrition, to diabetes, and nutrition support in mental health, including eating disorders.

I accept referrals from all healthcare providers.

I am registered with both Medicare & HICAPS Online.

At this stage, I provide both Telehealth nutrition appointments, by videoconference or phone call.

  • I use Zoom via Zanda videoconferencing, which is Privacy Compliant in Australia.
  • Patients are requested to complete both:
    1. A Consent form about Telehealth services prior to their appointment;
    2. A Client Registration form to collect details relating to their nutrition consultation;
    3. Consent for use of AI to support session notes, client email summaries and required reporting to referrers (optional).

Further Information

Payment is processed straight after an appointment, with eligible rebate submitted for claiming once account has been paid.

      • Initial Nutrition Consultation, 60 min | $170   
        • Includes Eating Disorder Plan, non-CDM & private referrals
        • Out-of-pocket cost, $109.65 (with Medicare rebate, $60.35)
      • Initial Nutrition Consultation, 45 min | $150 
        • Only for CDM referrals, preferably > 1 dietitian visit
        • Out-of-pocket cost, $89.65 (with Medicare rebate, $60.35)
      • Review Nutrition Consultation, 20-30 min | $100
        • Out-of-pocket cost, $39.65 (with Medicare rebate, $60.35)
    • Telehealth Consultations:
      • Initial Nutrition Consultation, 60 min | $150
        • Includes Eating Disorder Plan, non-CDM & private referrals
        • Out-of-pocket cost, $89.65  (with Medicare Rebate, $60.35)
      • Initial Nutrition Consultation, 45 min | $130
        • Only available for CDM referrals with > 1 dietitian visit allocated

      • Nutrition Review Consultations, 20-30 mins | $80

  1. *CDM = Chronic Disease Management OR Team Care Arrangement + GP Management Plan
  2. Sliding scale fees and payment plans may be available upon eligibility & request.
  3. Bulk billing is generally not available.

Medicare rebates are available for up to 5 allied health services per patient per calendar year, if clinically indicated.

Eligibility

Patients with one or more medical conditions that have been (or are likely to be) present for at least 6 months, or terminal condition(s). Additionally, they must have received the following MBS CDM services:

  • GP Management Plan – GP item 721/92024 or medical practitioner item 229/92055; and
  • Team Care Arrangements (TCA) – GP item 723/92025 or medical practitioner item 230/92056

Medicare benefits are accessible for patients with an EDP for up to 20 sessions with a dietitian in a 12-month period.

Eligibility
Patients with a diagnosis of Anorexia Nervosa are automatically eligible for an EDP.

Patients with a diagnosis of Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder or Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorder (OSFED) must meet both of these criteria:

  1. Been assessed as having an EDE-Q score of 3 or more; AND
  2. Rapid weight loss OR binge eating 3 or more times a week OR inappropriate compensatory behaviour 3 or more times a week.

AND must also meet at least 2 of the following criteria:

    • Body weight less than 85% of expected weight as a result of an eating disorder;
    • High risk of, or current medical complications due to, eating disorder behaviours and symptoms;
    • Serious comorbid medical or psychological conditions that significantly impact their medical or psychological health;
    • Hospital admittance for an eating disorder in the last 12 months;
    • Inadequate treatment response to evidence-based eating disorder treatments over the last 6 months.

I am not a registered NDIS provider. However, if my services are a good fit for your patient’s nutrition needs I may be able to provide support for individuals whose NDIS plans are:

  1. either self- or plan-managed, AND
  2. have approved funds for Dietitian Services under a suitable support category:
